Utah Trip #2

A few weeks after our last trip to Washington/Utah Owen and I headed back out to Utah for some weddings!  James came a week later which meant another airport trip by ourselves..

Luckily Owen was mostly happy and cheerful waiting around at the airport and on the plane!

We stayed at Great Grandma Owen's for the first week of our trip.

Owen got to use his grandma chair again..

And find a new favorite spot at great grandma's house..

 And see Natalie and grandma..

And most importantly..

He got to see great grandma's dogs again!

He loves these dogs.

We also got to go see the cute triplets that Bethany is a nanny for.

They were pretty interested in the new boy at their house..

Owen might not have been as thrilled as they were.

Next was Aunt Bethany's wedding.

I'm still waiting for some reception pictures of us all, so here is Bethany and Aaron outside the temple.

At the reception Owen got to sit like a big boy at the table.

And wait patiently for his food :)

Which he got to sit and eat with Grandma and Grandpa Jensen.

He also got to spend some more time with Great Grandma Barnard who he warmed up to after he stared at her for a little while..

Owen enjoyed some time with mom and dad :)

And then didn't enjoy some time with mom and dad..

The next week we spent at Grandma and Grandpa Jensen's house.

Here he learned how to play mario kart with dad!

Then we took a trip to This Is The Place State Park.

Owen got to ride on a train..

Play in little houses..

(
At one point he thought he might be able to make it out of one of the windows..
He quickly found out he couldn't..
)

 Pet goats..

And fulfill his lifelong dream of touching a duck!

Although the best part was probably the pony ride he got to take.

He had so much fun he wanted to ride twice!

It was a pretty great day for all of us :)

We eventually also made it up to BYU.

Where we had a great time bowling!

And it turns out that Owen is a pro at bowling and can carry a 6 pound ball by himself!

One terrible thing happened on this trip.
Bethany Coleman, James' cousin and my wonderful friend, got married and I neglected to get even ONE picture with her and her new husband Benji.
They looked wonderful and happy and I was there I just have no proof.. :(

When it was finally time to leave we were all sad to go..

But I was happy that we finally had James with us on a plane so we weren't alone :)

And so I had someone else to hold Owen for hours in an awkward position so he could sleep..

Seattle/Utah Adventures

Lucky for us, Owen and I just got to fly to Seattle and then drive to Utah to visit family!
We woke up at 4am to catch a three hour flight to Denver and then made another three hour flight to Seattle.
He did MUCH better than I could have hoped and mostly enjoyed the flights.

We finally made it to grandma's house..

And Owen found all kind of new toys to play with!

He also found a fun new chair where he could eat right at the table..

And all the treats grandma had waiting for him!

We visited a children's museum with all kinds of toys and water activities.
They had nice smocks to protect you from getting soaked, but unfortunately Owen did not enjoy wearing his..
He did enjoy getting wet...
Super wet...
There was also a life sized light bright that Owen LOVED!
We had to pry him away from this when it was finally time to leave.

He loved the water so much we of course had to take him swimming.

It was his first time swimming, so we took some time to get used to the water.

Turns out he LOVES swimming!

 He got a little exhausted..
And took a little break.
But I'm pretty sure his favorite part was playing with his Uncle Brandon!

Owen did all kinds of fun things with his uncles.
Like jumping on a trampoline!
He actually didn't like it too much..

He also learned how to do knuckles..
And he showed off his new skills with grandpa.

One night we went out to eat, and while waiting for our table we found some ducks in the parking lot.

Owen had a wonderful time chasing them around trying to catch them!
His uncles then proceeded to chase them away..
which did not make Owen happy.
We had to spend the next 45 minutes walking through the parking lot looking for the ducks that were clearly not coming back..

After a week in Seattle we all got in a car to drive to Salt Lake.
Owen loves petting goats at the zoo so I had been looking forward to introducing him to his great grandma's dogs.
He finally got to meet them and he loved them!
Until they started licking his face..

Great grandma's house was lots of fun.

He got to eat at the table some more and vacuum with Benjamin (seriously one of his favorite things to do).

It was also nice enough to play outside with mom!

While in Utah we got to go to Owen's cousin Zoey's birthday party!

We hadn't met Zoey yet, so they had to get acquainted..

They hit it off and had some fun playing.

He also had fun trying to copy his cousin Delmer..

And playing with Grandma and Grandpa Jensen (while eating yummy watermelon).

The day before we flew home was a sad morning, and we had to say goodbye to the Barnard side of the family about to drive home to Seattle.

We said bye to grandma..

And grandpa..

 And the uncles.

The next day we had to fly home so we packed up our bags and headed to the airport.
We ended up at our gate two hours early and then our flight was delayed another 45 minutes.

So clearly we had to get a frosty to pass the time.

When we finally made it on the plane it was SUPER hot and Owen was exhausted.
I tried to take his sleeves off to cool him down, but I only got one off before he fell asleep.
Lucky for me he slept like this the whole hour to Vegas.

We made a quick stop in Vegas where Owen enjoyed all the noise and lights from the gambling in the airport, and then we got on our last flight to get us home!

It was an awesome trip for both of us, but we are happy to be back home and playing outside in our sunny 80 degree weather!
